The ROG Phone 6 Diablo Edition appears to be straight from hell.

Asus has already established its ROG Phone line as the phone of choice for dedicated gamers, and the firm appears to be developing a practice of releasing awesomely designed special editions of its latest gaming gadgets. As an example, consider the Asus ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition. And, as you might expect, the phone is styled after Blizzard’s blockbuster Diablo Immortal game.

I know, I know, the game is divisive. Fortunately, the look is clearly Diablo, and we can pretend that this latest installment does not exist. I was overcome with nostalgia just by opening the gift. The big box obviously has the Diablo print on top and the heroes’ insignia on the sides. But that’s not all; when we open the external package, we notice that the phone is really housed in a Soulstone-shaped box (correction: the Worldstone). That is a lovely touch!

Rear to the phone, the back has been entirely redesigned with an aggressive red-on-black Diablo image (Asus refers to it as Hellfire Red finish), and the wording has been modified to fit the special edition.

The illuminating logos on the back are RGB, which means you can alter them to any hue you desire. They might be strobing, breathing, or cycling through different colors. We picked a consistent red for obvious reasons.

Diablo is, of course, the default theme upon startup. We like the lock screen, however, we don’t like the home screen wallpaper. It’s a little too contrasty and appears hastily put together. Having said that, the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition isn’t much different on the inside. It’s still powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and sports the front-facing 165 Hz AMOLED screen. The ultrasonic shoulder triggers, incredible stereo speakers, headphone jack, and twin USB ports Charging and accessory ports are all present. When we evaluated the 6 Pro, we discovered that the camera was also quite decent.

A Diablo-themed AeroActive Cooler 6 is certainly lacking. As you may know, the separately purchased attachment keeps the phone cool and provides four physical buttons for greater gameplay. However, it is currently only available in white, which would clash with the gloomy vibe we have going on here.

“Don’t you people have phones?” So how about a Diablo-themed phone? If you’ve always desired a phone dressed out in all things Diablo, Asus has you covered. Asus collaborated with Blizzard to create a limited edition ROG Phone 6 based on the mobile game Diablo Immortal. The unique theming extends not only to the hardware but also to the software — everything about this phone is based on Diablo, from the setup process to the notification sounds. There’s a lot to like here if you’re even the slightest Diablo fan (whether or not you like Immortal).

While I’ve spent hundreds of hours playing Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, and I’m looking forward to Diablo 4, I haven’t spent much time in Diablo Immortal simply because I’m not a fan of microtransactions and free-to-play games. But that doesn’t dampen my enthusiasm for a Diablo-themed smartphone.

This is unmistakably a Diablo gaming phone.

The ROG Phone 6 Diablo Edition has a semi-matte surface that emphasizes the “Hellfire Red” flames, which may alter based on your viewing angle. The name Diablo is inscribed on the rear of the gadget, along with the ROG and Diablo Immortal logos. The logos are illuminated by the phone’s proprietary Aura RGB, which adds a great touch. To be honest, I believe Diablo would have looked better lighted up – after all, this is the Lord of Terror we’re talking about. Is he not deserving?

On the reverse, there’s additional tiny Diablo Immortal writing above Diablo and the main logo, as well as “Diablo Immortal Limited Edition” in the lower left corner. The camera has a sleek tiny Diablo engraving in the glass, and behind the lenses are the words “Immortality awaits.” Didn’t Asus want to make it clear that this is a Diablo Immortal-themed device? Yes, it is, in case you forgot. Not just any Diablo title, but Diablo Immortal in particular. Isn’t it ideal because it’s a mobile game?

The SIM card slot on the frame’s bottom left side, as well as the power button on the right edge, have a metallic red accent that contrasts wonderfully with the black. . The 65W charger and braided USB-C cable, on the other hand, are black, much like the normal ROG Phone 6.

The program is also Diablo-themed.

The Asus ROG Phone 6 Diablo Edition has Android 12 as well as the customized ROG UI and Zen UI. However, because this is a Diablo edition phone, it comes with Diablo-themed wallpapers on the lock and home screens, as well as themed icons and noises. If you prefer, you can use the classic Android theme, but that kind of defeats the purpose.

The ROG and Diablo Immortal emblems on the rear of the phone may also be customized with RGB lighting using the Armoury Crate app. Though it may be changed to any hue, for obvious reasons, the phone looks best in red. You may also use lighting effects like breathing, strobing, and more.

A limited edition phone isn’t complete without matching accessories, and the Asus ROG Phone 6 Diablo Edition doesn’t disappoint. The complete set comes in a collectible Horadric Cube-inspired carton. The Horadric Cube, according to Diablo legend, has the ability to convert everything placed inside it.

When you open the Horadric Cube box, you’ll discover a cardboard box shaped like the game’s renowned Worldstone. When you open it, you’ll discover the phone as well as a unique Immortality Ejector PIN tool. The gadget has the DragonBallZblanket emblem on one side and the words “Immortality awaits” on the other.

The power adapter and USB-C cable are encased in a Map of Sanctuary leather cover with a string closure. It’s convenient for transporting your accessories when traveling. The Shield Blessing is a special thin-shelled aero phone cover that protects your Diablo Edition phone from ordinary scrapes while displaying the ROG and Diablo Immortal emblems. Asus also includes Fahir’s Light, a UV lamp (aka flashlight) that may be used to uncover hidden information on the phone case and map. It’s a gimmick, but it’s still a nice little item to show off to your Diablo-obsessed buddies.
